We currently seeking applications for the following positions:

Residential Social Workers (Locum)


We require experienced Residential Social Workers to provide cover for Holiday's, Sickness, etc as and when shifts are unfilled.

We require individuals with good communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to work in a demanding, but rewarding environment. Our aim is to provide the appropriate support to the Young people in our care in preparation for independent living or to facilitate their return to their families

In order to provide the best possible levels of care the applicant should possess the following abilities & skills:

(a) Understanding of the physical, emotional and social needs of young people

(b) Knowledge of the Children Act 1989

(c) Ability to undertake administrative duties and to keep legible written records

(d) Ability to follow written guidelines and procedures

(e) Able to demonstrate the need to maintain confidentiality

(f) Ability to communicate verbally with young people, colleagues, parents, social workers and outside agencies

(g) Willingness to work within Equal Opportunities framework

(h) Willingness to undertake training

(i) Ability to work using own initiative as well as part of a team

Experience:

All applicants must possess at least 1 years experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting and ideally hold a current Criminal Records Bureau Police check.  

The above position involves working on a shift pattern basis and will involve working on weekends, bank holidays and night duties dependant on the allocated shift.

Salary Range:

The hourly rate for this position is currently £7 - £9 per hour, dependant on qualifications and experience.
