Our residential unit is for young people who are deemed at risk, hence creating a safe, caring environment for them to live. Providing a warm homely atmosphere where young people can develop personal and practical skills as well as inner controls. The units have created surroundings where young people have the security and home base to develop Inter-Personal skills necessary to become confident, secure, socially acceptable mature adults. Staff provide a high degree of support and strive to instill a standard of behaviour, based upon expectation as opposed to a set off rules and regulations.

 

These Aims will be met by accomplishing the following objectives:

To create and maintain an environment conducive to a sense of security and change.

To support and develop the physical, practical, emotional, cultural, spiritual and social needs.

To work with young people towards preparing them for semi-independent living with a view to working to total independence.

To provide stimulating, structured and individual packages of activities that will encompass a program of social and personal life skills.

To encourage the exploration of  addressing past family difficulties with the view of strengthening family links, where appropriate.

To ensure that young peoples educational needs are met and that they have the opportunity to achieve their educational potential.

To promote the development of self-control.

To promote the development of self-awareness and accountability for their actions.

To promote the development of self worth and a positive self image.

To promote an active recognition of young people’s rights.

To develop and maintain a strong staff culture.

To develop positive relationships with other agencies.
