Church Street is able to admit emergency referrals. The criteria for admission must be met before the referral is admitted.

Church Street has an emergency bedroom, which is located next to the main office. The young person will remain in this room for the initial weeks of the placement so that their behaviours can be assessed a full report will be given to social worker so the information can be used to help in future placements. If it is deemed that the placement is a suitable long-term placement then they will be moved to a permanent room within the home.

A young person will only be admitted if we have the essential information part one and two. This is to enable us to work effectively with the young person. All other LAC forms must be available within 24 hours - 48 if over a weekend. As a condition of placement the social worker must agree to attend a planning meeting within 48 hours so that plans can be made to give the young person the best possible care package.

The staff team at Church street is experienced is well qualified and has been together as a team for the past two years, we believe that because of this we are able to take on emergency placements without diminishing the level of care that we provide.
